Q&A

For now, we populate our database with open access papers fetched from APIs - but good news! Since 2022, all research has to be open access in the UK. The next step is to include paywalled papers, which you'll only get access to through your personal or institutional subscription.

Currently, our TL;DR summaries for each paper's section are generated with OpenAI's GPT-4 models. Once we have a MVP, we'll look into fine-tuning our models with the input of professors and researchers to ensure summaries are academically rigorous.

Our recommendation algorithm curates a personalised feed of academic papers for you, so you don't miss any breakthrough in your field. Can't keep up with it all? We got you covered with our daily paper picks.

Your data privacy is our priority, safeguarded by top-notch encryption and secure handling. When you upload your own sources to et al., they remain private to you and will only be visible on your end.

We will provide both a free and a premium personal plan depending on your needs. For universities and companies, we will offer a custom enterprise plan. We are currently developing the et al. features so we can further define these. In the meantime, get in touch to try et al. for free!
